Overview

The Timeline view provides a Gantt-chart visualization of allocations across time. Each row represents an asset, and colored horizontal bars represent allocation periods, with colors indicating the allocation category. This view is ideal for quickly understanding the temporal distribution of downtime and maintenance across your fleet.

The Timeline provides intuitive navigation controls:

Zoom Levels

Control the time resolution using the zoom controls in the toolbar. Three levels are available:

  • Hour view — Shows individual hours; best for investigating specific events within a day

  • Day view — Shows individual days; good for weekly/monthly analysis

  • Week view — Shows weekly blocks; useful for long-term overview

Panning & Scrolling

  • Use the left/right arrow buttons to shift the timeline forward or backward

  • Mouse scroll on the timeline header to zoom in/out

  • Click and drag on the timeline to pan

Timeline Filters

The timeline toolbar includes several filter toggles:

Filter Description
Duration filterHide allocations shorter than a threshold: 1 min, 5 min, 10 min, 60 min, 120 min, 720 min (12h), 1440 min (1d), 2880 min (2d), 10080 min (1w)

Interactions

Clicking Allocation Bars

Click on any allocation bar to open a tooltip showing the allocation details (asset, category, start/end time, duration). From the tooltip, you can navigate to the override view for that specific allocation.

Context Menu

Right-click on the timeline to access context menu actions relevant to the clicked position (time, asset).

Add Bulk Event Mode

The Add Bulk Event button enters a special mode for creating events directly on the timeline:

  1. Click Add Bulk Event to enter the mode

  2. Click on the timeline to set the start time

  3. Alt+Click to set the end time

  4. The event creation panel opens with the selected time range

Color Legend

Each allocation category has a unique color. The Gantt chart uses these same colors from the category configuration:

  • Red — Typically repair/forced outage categories

  • Yellow/Orange — Warning or partial performance

  • Green — Full performance or operational

  • Blue — Weather-related or resource unavailable

  • Gray — Information not available
