Introduction
The Availability Application in Bazefield is a comprehensive tool for managing allocations — time-based records that categorize equipment downtime, maintenance events, and operational states across your renewable energy portfolio. It provides a centralized interface for tracking, analyzing, and reporting on asset availability in compliance with industry standards such as GADS (Generating Availability Data System), IEC, and custom categorization schemes.
Purpose
The Availability Application enables operations teams to:
Track equipment downtime — Record and categorize all periods when assets are unavailable, curtailed, or operating in a degraded state
Comply with reporting standards — Map events to GADS codes (Wind, Solar, BESS), IEC categories, or custom classification schemes
Analyze availability statistics — View KPIs, lost production metrics, and historical trends across your entire fleet
Validate data quality — Identify and resolve issues in allocation records before they impact reporting
Manage events & root causes — Link alarm events to allocations, set root causes, create manual events, and manage cases
Accessing the Application
Navigate to the Availability Application from the Bazefield portal's left sidebar, or access it directly via /#/vue/availability/allocations. The application opens with the Allocations view by default.

Navigation
The application provides multiple views, each accessible via the navigation tabs at the top of the page. The Allocations and Timeline tabs are always visible in the primary Vue navigation. When you switch to the Timeline or other legacy views, the full navigation bar expands to show all available views:
View | Description |
|---|---|
Allocations | Primary workspace — sortable data table for browsing, creating, editing, and bulk-operating on allocations |
Timeline | Gantt-chart visualization showing allocations as colored bars across a time axis per asset |
Asset | Per-asset summary and override view |
Statistics | KPI panels and charts — availability percentages, lost production, and production figures |
Validation | Data-quality tool that scans for issues in allocation records |
Bulk Recategorizations | Tool for applying category changes to many allocations at once, with undo capability |
Allocation Types
At the top of the page, the allocation type selector dropdown (labeled "Showing") determines which categorization scheme is active. This is one of the most important selections — it controls the available categories, the column layout, and the reporting behavior for all views.
Common allocation types include:
Wind Categorizations — GADS-Performance codes for wind turbines. Sub-types include IEC 61400, custom schemes, etc.
Solar GADS — GADS-Performance codes for solar inverters and arrays
BESS-GADS — Battery Energy Storage System categorizations
Standard Categorizations — General-purpose classification with various sub-types
Site Categorizations — Site-level (rather than asset-level) event tracking
Performance Categorization — Performance-loss-specific tracking
