  3. Once set, the event row shows a green "Root Cause" badge

  4. Setting a root cause links the allocation to a specific alarm event for traceability

Time Adjustment from Events

You can adjust allocation boundaries directly from event timestamps:

  • Click a From time → sets the allocation's start time to the event's start

  • Click a To time → sets the allocation's end time to the event's end

  • If Preview Mode is enabled (see Settings), a preview dialog shows the original vs. new allocation before applying

Create Manual Alarm — Detailed Workflow

The Create manual Alarm button in the Events tab opens the Create Manual Alarm dialog. This allows you to create a manual alarm event and optionally set it as the root cause for the allocation.

Step 1: Select Event Source & Template

The dialog opens with the Alarm Picker at the top:

  • Source — Select a manual event source from the dropdown (filtered to "Manual" sources only)

  • Event template — Choose the event template that defines the alarm type

  • Event — Select the specific event/alarm code

Step 2: Set Time Range

  • Start Time — Date/time picker (24-hour format). Defaults to the allocation's start time

  • End Time — Date/time picker. Defaults to current time or allocation end time

  • ☑ Is Still Active — Check this if the event is ongoing (disables the End Time picker)

Step 3: Select Timezone

  • ◉ Client — Times are in your browser's local timezone

  • ◉ Site — Times are in the asset's registered timezone (recommended)

Step 4: Save Options

The dialog footer provides two save actions:

  • "Save Event Only" (outline button) — Creates the manual alarm without setting it as root cause. The alarm appears in the Events tab but the allocation's root cause is unchanged

  • "Create and Save as Root Cause" (green button) — Creates the alarm AND sets it as the allocation's root cause. This triggers Step 5

Step 5: Category Modification (if saving as Root Cause)

When saving as root cause, an additional section appears:

  • Left column — Shows the current categories (read-only)

  • Right column — Shows new categories (editable via dropdowns)

  • Keep/Change toggle — "Do Not Update Categories" keeps existing categories; "Update Categories" applies the new ones

Click "Update Categories" (red) to apply category changes along with the root cause, or "Do Not Update Categories" (green) to set root cause without changing categories.

Trend Tab

Shows a time-series trend chart for the asset during the allocation period. Useful for correlating downtime with operational data such as power output, wind speed, or irradiance.

  • LostMoney — Financial impact of the downtime

  • SpotPrice — Electricity spot price during the allocation
