This article explains how to configure the Polar Chart widget in the Bazefield BI Manager. For a general overview, see the Polar Chart Widget article.
General Tab
The General tab configures the data sources, axis mapping, and bin aggregation settings.
App Linked Data Sources
Data sources are organized in tabs by type:
- Points — Standard metric data sources with Name, Asset Types, Attributes, Points, Calculations, and Time columns.
- Availability Statistics — Availability data sources for directional analysis.
Output Configuration
Map data to the polar coordinate axes:
- Theta point — The metric mapped to the angular (theta) axis (e.g., Wind Direction, Irradiance).
- Radial point — The metric mapped to the radial axis (e.g., Active Power).
Each axis row shows the Type, Data source name, Unit setting, and Value Decimals. Click the edit icon (✏) to modify.
Bin Aggregate
- Grouping — Select the aggregation method for binning radial values within each angular sector.
Advanced Tab
The Advanced tab provides fine-grained control over the chart geometry and appearance.
Common
- Chart title — Title displayed on the chart itself.
- Height — Widget height in pixels (e.g., 400).
- Chart Type — Select Vertical bar, Line, or Area.
Pane / Polar Geometry
- Start angle — Starting angle in degrees (default: 0).
- End angle — Ending angle in degrees (default: 360). Set a partial arc for semicircular charts.
Radius Axis
- Min value / Max value — Set explicit axis bounds or leave blank for "Dynamically calculated from data".
- Grid line interpolation — Choose Circle (smooth) or Polygon (angular) grid lines.
Series & Legend
Configure series visibility and legend display options.
