Certified Product Templates

Overview

Certified Product Templates are standardized, product-maintained data models used throughout the Bazefield platform. They define consistent telemetry, calculations, attributes, and event structures needed for reliable monitoring, analytics, and reporting across renewable energy asset types. By providing a Bazefield‑approved foundation, these templates reduce onboarding complexity, ensure modeling consistency, and improve fleet-wide alignment. Certified Product Templates are organized into Core packages based on site technology, and can be clearly identified in the portal with their Green ‘Product Certified’ shield.

Definition

A Certified Product Template is an officially validated data template made available through the Bazefield Model Manager. These templates define the minimum recommended set of points and structures for each asset or system type—such as Turbines, Inverter, Meters, and more. Certified Product Templates ensure that installed asset models adhere to Bazefield standards, enabling consistent behavior across deployments and simplifying ongoing upgrades. Product Certified Template Types include Model Templates comprised of Point Templates, Event Templates, Device Templates, Domain Scripts, and Rulesets, as well as System Templates such as Allocation Types and Calculation Models.

Why Certified Product Templates Matter

As portfolios grow and include multiple vendors, technologies, and versions, data consistency becomes critical. Certified Product Templates:

  • Ensure alignment with Bazefield's Core data model standards.

  • Reduce onboarding time for new sites by providing ready-to-use, pre-validated structures.

  • Improve the reliability and comparability of KPIs, analytics, alarms, and dashboards across the fleet.

  • Support upgradeability by allowing templates to be deployed or updated centrally.

  • Decrease configuration drift by maintaining standardized definitions across models.

How Templates Are Installed

Certified Product Templates are deployed and managed through Model Manager—Bazefield’s administrative tool for handling template versions, updates, and relationships. The installation process typically follows these steps:

  1. Install the appropriate Core Package for your Bazefield version. Core packages contain the full set of Certified Product Templates for each supported asset domain.

  2. Open Model Manager and navigate to the Certified Repository View, where all available templates can be previewed or downloaded.

  3. Deploy templates to asset models or system-level packages using Model Manager’s deployment tools. Templates can be applied individually or in bulk where applicable.

  4. Use the Production Models View to inspect inheritance, deployed templates, and upgrade options.

This workflow ensures that new and existing asset models stay aligned with Bazefield’s validated standards and benefit      from consistent telemetry and analytics structures.

Relationship to Other Concepts

Concept

Role in Relation to Certified Product Templates

Asset

Assets inherit deployed Certified Product Templates, which determine their telemetry, events, and attributes.

Asset Model

Asset Models receive and implement Certified Product Templates, defining how assets behave within the platform.

Domain Category

Templates are organized by domain (Wind, Solar, Hydro, Energy Storage, etc.), ensuring consistency by technology type.

Key Benefits of Certified Product Templates

  • Fleet-wide standardization: Enables consistent KPIs, dashboards, and analytics across all assets of the same type.

  • Simplified configuration: Shared, reusable templates reduce per-site customization and promote predictable behavior.

  • Clear UI structure: Standardized modeling leads to more intuitive navigation and management in asset-oriented applications.

  • Scalable modeling: Support for additional OEMs or technology variants without redefining fundamental categories.

  • Powerful filtering: Templates and their associated asset types appear cleanly in system-wide filters, improving discoverability and consistency.

Summary

Certified Product Templates form the backbone of consistent, scalable, and maintainable data modeling in Bazefield. Installed through Core Packages and managed via Model Manager, they ensure that assets across various domains adhere to Bazefield’s validated standards. Their structured, reusable definitions minimize configuration effort, improve system reliability, and support high-quality analytics across renewable energy portfolios.
