The Storage Node stores data from its site Edge Buffers long-term.
Overview
Bazefield Storage Nodes collect data from Edge Buffer Nodes and store it long-term in archive files. They also process interval and real-time calculations via the Bazefield Calculation Service, providing calculation load-balancing for systems using multiple Storage Nodes.
Each Storage Node acts as the parent of its connected Edge Buffers, supplying them with all their configuration data such as tags and Devices
Storage Nodes are equipped with large drives to store years of historical data. The DataEngine supports multiple drives, allowing additional storage to be added as needed.
Using multiple Storage Nodes distributes both data storage and I/O load across machines, improving performance when multiple users are accessing large historical datasets.
Purpose
The purpose of a Storage Node is to:
Store plant data long-term
Enable scalability of data drives
Distribute the load of Calculations and I/O requests across the system
