Some widgets rely on data from **data sources**, while others use information from **internal configurations**. Below are the different widgets and their functionalities: | Widgets | Type | App Types | Supported Data Source | Synchronization (See [Widget synchronizations](/product/docs/widget-synchronizations-1)) | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Time Series Trend ([Time Series Trend](/product/docs/time-series-trend-1)) | Trend | Dashboard & Report | Points ([Point Datasource](/product/docs/point-1)) | Yes with Event Log ([Event Log](/product/docs/event-log-2)) | | XY ([XY](/product/docs/xy-1)) | Chart | Dashboard & Report | Points ([Point Datasource](/product/docs/point-1)) | Yes with Event Log ([Event Log](/product/docs/event-log-2)) & Asset Metric Chart ([Asset Metric Chart](/product/docs/asset-metric-chart-2)) | | Waterfall | Analytics Apps | Dashboard & Report | Points ([Point Datasource](/product/docs/point-1)) & Availabilty Stats ( [Availability Statistics Data Source](/product/docs/availability-statistics-1)) | No | | Time Summarized Metrics | Data Tables | Dashboard & Report | Points ([Point Datasource](/product/docs/point-1)) & Availabilty Stats ( [Availability Statistics Data Source](/product/docs/availability-statistics-1)) | No | | Single KPI | Data Tables | Dashboard & Report | Points ([Point Datasource](/product/docs/point-1)) & Availabilty Stats ([Availability Statistics Data Source](/product/docs/availability-statistics-1)) | No | | Report Comment | Customization | Report | No | No | | Report Writer | Customization | Dashboard & Report | Points ([Point Datasource](/product/docs/point-1)) & Availabilty Stats ([Availability Statistics Data Source](/product/docs/availability-statistics-1)) & AssetAttributes ( [Asset Attribute Datasource](/product/docs/asset-attribute-1)) | No | | Real Time Map | Monitoring Apps | Dashboard | No | No | | HTML Composer | Customization | Dashboard & Report | No | No | | Heatmap | Chart | Dashboard & Report | Points ([Point Datasource](/product/docs/point-1)) | No | | Event Log | Monitoring Apps | Dashboard & Report | No | Yes with Time Series Trend ([Time Series Trend](/product/docs/time-series-trend-1)) & XY ([XY](/product/docs/xy-1)) | | Category Bar Chart | Chart | Dashboard | Points ([Point Datasource](/product/docs/point-1)) & Availabilty Stats ( [Availability Statistics Data Source](/product/docs/availability-statistics-1)) | No | | Asset Summarized Metric | Data Tables | Dashboard & Report | Points ([Point Datasource](/product/docs/point-1)) & Availabilty Stats ([Availability Statistics Data Source](/product/docs/availability-statistics-1)) & AssetAttributes ( [Asset Attribute Datasource](/product/docs/asset-attribute-1)) | No | | Asset Metric Chart | Chart | Dashboard & Report | Points ([Point Datasource](/product/docs/point-1)) & Availabilty Stats ( [Availability Statistics Data Source](/product/docs/availability-statistics-1)) | Yes with XY ([XY](/product/docs/xy-1)) | | Analytic map | Monitoring Apps | Dashboard | Points ([Point Datasource](/product/docs/point-1)) | No | ### Widgets supporting datasource For widgets that support data sources, the configuration interface is unified and always consists of two tabs: - **Configuration tab** — Contains the list of available data sources the widget can use, along with output settings that define how the data is displayed in the widget. - **Advanced tab** — Provides additional, more specific configuration options not all widget have this option The **Configuration** tab is divided into two sections: the **Linked Datasources** table and the **Output Configuration**. #### Linked Datasource table The **Linked Datasource Table** is a shared component used across all widgets that support data sources. It displays the types of data sources that can be connected to the widget and shows the intersection between: - Data sources linked to the application, and - Data sources supported by the widget. Within this table, users can view all the configured data for each data source. They can also determine whether a data source uses the app’s global time filter or if it has custom date settings. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/a0786c0f-b171-4b24-8860-c32eb7ef2738/Images/Documentation/image(498).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-06T20%3A49%3A54Z&se=2026-11-06T21%3A49%3A54Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=jKajRAM1ncPAq%2FBkB2uG3jaDHZVBdVeRIvZD1DtbFio%3D) Users can create a new data source directly by clicking **“+ Create new Data Source for App”**. This action will automatically publish and link the data source to the current app. Alternatively, users can link an existing data source using the **“Link Data Source to App”** button. > **Note:** After making any changes, users must click the **Refresh** button to update the linked data source table. From the widget itself, users also have quick access to manage each linked data source. They can: - Open the data source in a new tab, - Add a new point, - Add a new attribute - Add a new calculation. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/a0786c0f-b171-4b24-8860-c32eb7ef2738/Images/Documentation/image(499).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-06T20%3A49%3A54Z&se=2026-11-06T21%3A49%3A54Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=jKajRAM1ncPAq%2FBkB2uG3jaDHZVBdVeRIvZD1DtbFio%3D) **Add Point** (available on the *Points* tab only): allows to add a point outside the data source. Information to enter: - *Point*: The point to add. The proposed points are those of the concerned asset. - *Time Period Aggregate*: How the values will be aggregated over time (average over the period, minimum, maximum, etc.) - *Data Name*: The name that will be given to this element on the widget (both for configuration and final display) - *Multi Asset Aggregation*: How the values will be aggredated (no aggregation, sum or average) for display if multiple assets are selected ![Report_writer-addPoint.png](https://cdn.document360.io/a0786c0f-b171-4b24-8860-c32eb7ef2738/Images/Documentation/Report_writer-addPoint.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-06T20%3A49%3A54Z&se=2026-11-06T21%3A49%3A54Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=jKajRAM1ncPAq%2FBkB2uG3jaDHZVBdVeRIvZD1DtbFio%3D) - **Add Attribute** (available on the *Points* tab only): allows to add an attribute outside the data source. Information to enter: - *Attribute*: The attribute to add. The proposed attributes are those of the concerned asset. - *Data Name*: The name that will be given to this element on the widget (both for configuration and final display) ![Report_writer-addAttribute.png](https://cdn.document360.io/a0786c0f-b171-4b24-8860-c32eb7ef2738/Images/Documentation/Report_writer-addAttribute.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-06T20%3A49%3A54Z&se=2026-11-06T21%3A49%3A54Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=jKajRAM1ncPAq%2FBkB2uG3jaDHZVBdVeRIvZD1DtbFio%3D) - **Add Calculation** (available on the *Points* tab only): allows to add a calculated value. Information to enter: - *Name*: The name that will be given to this element on the widget (both for configuration and final display) - *Multi Asset Aggregation*: How the values will be aggredated (no aggregation, sum or average) for display if multiple assets are selected - *Expression*: The calculation formula. To use a point in a formula, click on it, its formatted code will be append to the formula. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/a0786c0f-b171-4b24-8860-c32eb7ef2738/Images/Documentation/image(539).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-06T20%3A49%3A54Z&se=2026-11-06T21%3A49%3A54Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=jKajRAM1ncPAq%2FBkB2uG3jaDHZVBdVeRIvZD1DtbFio%3D) #### Output configuration Each widget has its own configuration options depending on how it displays data. However, one common element across nearly all widgets is **color selection**. Bazefield uses a **unified color picker** shared by all widgets. For each widget, the user must configure **two colors**: - One color for the **light theme** - One color for the **dark theme** You can either: - Enter a **hex color code** manually, or - Select a color from the **provided palette** ![](https://cdn.document360.io/a0786c0f-b171-4b24-8860-c32eb7ef2738/Images/Documentation/image(500).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-06T20%3A49%3A54Z&se=2026-11-06T21%3A49%3A54Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=jKajRAM1ncPAq%2FBkB2uG3jaDHZVBdVeRIvZD1DtbFio%3D) Additionally, you can use the **copy** button to duplicate the hex code and **paste** it elsewhere in Bazefield.
