Filters are cumulative, meaning they eliminate any event that does not match all of the specified criteria. ## Why Use Event Filtering? **Event Filtering** allows for the narrowing of events to only those that are relevant. It enables you to locate specific events that meet a set of criteria. Without any filters enabled, [Event Monitoring](/product/docs/event-monitoring#events-view) displays every event in chronological order. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/a0786c0f-b171-4b24-8860-c32eb7ef2738/Images/Documentation/image(257).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-06T19%3A51%3A56Z&se=2026-11-06T20%3A51%3A56Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=IVRByVDffbI8pMVBvE68vfOJiJaP4Mzeqi%2BfUoK9hb8%3D) ## Filter Templates **Filter Templates** enable the saving of the selected [Filter Options](/product/docs/filtering#filter-options), [Column Selection](/product/docs/column-selector#overview), and refresh settings. This allows the creation of multiple filters for different purposes. If a filter option is not selected, then it does not affect the results. | Filter | **Options** | Description | | --- | --- | --- | | `Priority` | Info, Low, Medium, High, Critical, Safety | Finds events whose priority matches one of the selected priorities | | `Status` | Unacknowledged and Acknowledged | Finds events whose status matches the selected status | | `Event Type` | Warning, Alarm, and Status | Finds events whose type matches one of the selected types | | `Event Status` | Active and Closed | Finds events whose status matches the selected status | | `Event Source` | SCADA, Substation, Performance, Communication, System, Manual, Condition Monitoring, Notifications, and Planned | Finds events whose source matches one of the selected sources | | `Label Search` | Text Field | Finds events that have at least one label whose text partially matches the label search text | | `Includes` | Comments, Documents, Tasks, Allocations, and Cases | Finds events that have at least one item for every include category selected | | `Excludes` | Comments, Documents, Tasks, Allocations, and Cases | Finds events that have no items for every exclude category selected | | `Shelved` | Yes or No | If enabled, finds events that were shelved | | `Exclude Future Events` | Yes or No | If enabled, excludes events with a start date that is in the future.
