A widget is a tool that allows users to visualize their data in various ways. Some widgets rely on data from data sources, while others use information from internal configurations.

Below are the different widgets and their functionalities:

Widgets supporting datasource

For widgets that support data sources, the configuration interface is unified and always consists of two tabs:

Configuration tab — Contains the list of available data sources the widget can use, along with output settings that define how the data is displayed in the widget.
Advanced tab — Provides additional, more specific configuration options not all widget have this option

The Configuration tab is divided into two sections: the Linked Datasources table and the Output Configuration.

Linked Datasource table

The Linked Datasource Table is a shared component used across all widgets that support data sources. It displays the types of data sources that can be connected to the widget and shows the intersection between:

Data sources linked to the application, and
Data sources supported by the widget.

Within this table, users can view all the configured data for each data source. They can also determine whether a data source uses the app’s global time filter or if it has custom date settings.

Users can create a new data source directly by clicking “+ Create new Data Source for App”. This action will automatically publish and link the data source to the current app. Alternatively, users can link an existing data source using the “Link Data Source to App” button.

Note: After making any changes, users must click the Refresh button to update the linked data source table.

From the widget itself, users also have quick access to manage each linked data source. They can:

Open the data source in a new tab,
Add a new point,
Add a new attribute
Add a new calculation.

Add Point (available on the Points tab only): allows to add a point outside the data source. Information to enter:

Point: The point to add. The proposed points are those of the concerned asset.
Time Period Aggregate: How the values will be aggregated over time (average over the period, minimum, maximum, etc.)
Data Name: The name that will be given to this element on the widget (both for configuration and final display)
Multi Asset Aggregation: How the values will be aggredated (no aggregation, sum or average) for display if multiple assets are selected

Add Attribute (available on the Points tab only): allows to add an attribute outside the data source. Information to enter:
- Attribute: The attribute to add. The proposed attributes are those of the concerned asset.
- Data Name: The name that will be given to this element on the widget (both for configuration and final display)
Add Calculation (available on the Points tab only): allows to add a calculated value. Information to enter:
- Name: The name that will be given to this element on the widget (both for configuration and final display)
- Multi Asset Aggregation: How the values will be aggredated (no aggregation, sum or average) for display if multiple assets are selected
- Expression: The calculation formula. To use a point in a formula, click on it, its formatted code will be append to the formula.

Output configuration

Each widget has its own configuration options depending on how it displays data.

However, one common element across nearly all widgets is color selection.

Bazefield uses a unified color picker shared by all widgets.
For each widget, the user must configure two colors:

One color for the light theme
One color for the dark theme

You can either:

Enter a hex color code manually, or
Select a color from the provided palette

Additionally, you can use the copy button to duplicate the hex code and paste it elsewhere in Bazefield.
