Creating and Configuring Widget Containers

After creating your first dashboard or report, you can organize your content using widget containers.

  • In a dashboard, a widget container is called a view.

  • In a report, a widget container is called a section.

Although their purpose differs slightly, views and sections are configured in the same way during editing:

  • A view in a dashboard groups widgets that display data, possibly with user interactions through the app and asset filters.

  • A section in a report corresponds to one or several pages of that report and is used in the table of content.

Creating a New View or Section

When a new dashboard or report is created, the first widget container is automatically generated and named “New View” (or “New Section”).

To edit it:

  1. Enter the edit mode.

  2. Click the pencil icon next to the view or section name.

This opens the configuration panel where you can:

  • Rename the view or section.

  • Add a description to clarify its purpose.

Managing Multiple Views or Sections

You can add additional views or sections as needed:

  • Click “Add View” (or “Add Section”) to create a new one.

  • Reorder them easily using drag and drop to adjust their display order.

Once the view or section is configured, you can now add widget see Create a Widget Grid
