# Create work orders from Bazefield

Work orders can be created via the following methods:

- Manually using Event Operations UI
- Programmatically using Bazefield Services API
- Triggered by Bazefield Flow Service actions (see [Automated Work Order Creation](/product/docs/cmms-integration-automated-work-order-creation))

**Data Flow**

1. Create work order request is sent to Bazefield Service API (via one of the methods listed above)
  - Bazefield Services API stores a copy of the work order in it’s backend database
2. Bazefield Services API forwards a request to create the work order in the external CMMS
  - The details of this request are fully configurable to match the requirements on the external system
3. An External ID is returned to Bazefield Services
  - Bazefield internal record is updated with External ID from the CMMS
4. Created work order with External ID (and CMMS hyperlink) is reflected in the UI
