# Create Data Source

#### **How to Create a Data Source**

1. Open the **BI Manager Application**
2. Navigate to the **Data Source** tab.

3. Click the **Create Data Source** button (top-right corner)

4. Select a **Type** from the following options:
  - Point – for time-series data from sensors or systems
  - Availability Statistics, – for uptime/availability tracking
  - Asset Attribute – for static or descriptive asset data

1. Enter a **Name** and select an **Asset Type** *(Description is optional)*

1. Configure your datasource. For details on configuration fields, see Data sources Configurations
2. Click **Save & Publish**. To learn more about publish vs draft status, see Version control workflow

**Result:** Your new data source is now available under the **Data Sources** tab.
